• Accumulated more than 300 hours of experience teaching dog-training classes before even applying to take the certification
test
• Provided the certification council with written references from clients, colleagues, and a veterinarian
• Studied animal behavior, learning theory, canine genetics and evolution, communication and instructional skills, animal
husbandry, canine health, and training equipment
• Passed the certification exam with a score of 85% or higher
• Acquired 36 Continuing Education Units every 3 years or retake a certification exam every 3 years
